UNWANTED HELLOS

Unwanted Hellos

What are you?
 Ye who gives and takes
 Who are you?
Ye who loves and forsakes

In the blink of an eye,
Ye who were once shy
Can now pass me by
without saying “hi”

You chose to leave
And watched me grieve
 Even when asked,
You called me Eve

You took it whole
Without a bowl
And sat to watch
The Super Bowl

You let it fall,
And roll down the hall
What did it matter
You never did call

You chose to see
What eyes never saw
And I walked away
By quarter past four

How did you think it would all pan out?
With your cards of destruction
Mixed in soured love potion
You watched to see
How far I’d gone
Because to you
It was nothing but fun

You checked to find
The feelings you left
I’m happy to say
My return was deft

Time may have gone by
And I may have lost sight
Of what in days past
Was really my fight

It’s now quite revealing
As I look passed the ceiling…
Feelings once sealed in,
Now need refilling.

In my healing process
I took to no recess
I began re-sealing
Granting no access

But such is life
I’ve learnt in strife
Where people roam
The earth with a knife

Where things you feel
Are never precise
Nor things you hear
Ever concise

Most often than not
You are fed with lies
And all you can do
Is cover with smiles

You profound, petty, pretentious pea!
Who has chosen not to let me be
Do not check in
Or pretend you care
Nor look my way
In your cunning glare

And as I mend my broken soul
And once again make the broken whole
Keep your fake halo
And yes ofcourse
Your unwanted hellos

BUOYANCY IN RECESSION

Hi guys. How have we been?
I have been feeling guilty for a while now for not posting anything inspirational but this should be able to make it up a bit. I guess?
OK moving on, what is buoyancy?
Buoyancy is a state of cheerfulness that bubbles to the surface; irrepressible liveliness and cheerful spirit.
Recession is where there is a decline in the economy of a particular nation.
Buoyancy in recession simply means enjoying abundance in the midst of lack.

It is no news that Nigeria has been going through a phase of recession for some time now and so many people are sad, depressed,helpless...or they feel so at least.
But the truth is you are actually not helpless.
In fact, THANK GOD there is recession because finally Nigerians are thinking straight.
Thank God there is recession because people are now up on their feet, looking for ways to make things work.
Thank God there is recession because people are finally stepping out of their comfort zones to do great things.
Thank God there is recession because entrepreneurship and creativity are now the order of the day.
Thank God there is recession because there is finally a rebranding of mentality.
We are no longer waiting for things to be handed over to us , we are going out there to get things done.

If you are still waiting for "change" to come, then you boarded the wrong plane, come out and join the movement because the CHANGE is happening already. Maybe not the kind of change you expected, where our leaders will become more honest, transparent and accountable in governance but the CHANGE is NOW!
Where people are no longer basing their success on the success of the successive governments which  constantly disappoint us,
People have moved from being spectators to being the players in the match of greatness.
If you are still waiting for Buhari's change, then I really don't know what to say to you .
Stand up and get out there! Be creative. Think...THINK!
There are opportunities everywhere now.
It is a criminal offence to be ignorant in this age and time.
People are making waves and attaining heights
Are you one of them or you are the one who stalk those that are making it on Instagram?

Time waits for no man.
Get on your feet and start something NOW!
Set goals, put a timeline on them and smash them.
After achieving the set goals, set new ones.
Build a career . Start a brand. Read good books . Get certifications.
You don't have to wait until you are older before starting.
You can get 5 or more certificates before leaving the university.
We have various websites in place that offer online courses with certifications like Alison.com, coursera.com and many others. Get busy!
Some sit all day complaining about recession and all the wrongs the government but what singular thing have you done to make things right?
If you want to enjoy buoyancy and abundance in recession, then put your brain and hands to work.

DEMENTIA EPISODE 7

EPISODE 7
*NEXT MORNING*
Kayode hummed quietly as he prepared for work. It was still pretty early because the sun hadn't taken it's place in the skies.
He faced the mirror while knotting his tie. Then he saw the reflection of something like a human being, resting on the wall. He turned back but saw nothing . He waved it off as a figment of his imagination. He was almost done when he saw it again he turned and saw her, Jacinta, his wife!

She was leaning on the wall staring at him with ice cold eyes. She was swathed in white and her feet were floating. Only her face could be seen clearly and it looked cold and menacing. His lips were trembling and the only coherent thing he could say was her name "Ja...Jacinta?" She just stared back at him, with her eyes still cold. He still couldn't believe what he was seeing. He remained rooted to the spot and a chill ran down his spine. For a moment he wondered if he was going mad and if what he was seeing was real

She finally spoke, "You monster, How dare you? How dare you defile my child?"Her voice was soft but it echoed through out the room The anger in her was apparent. In her eyes was the reflection of fire and he stepped back still very much shaken by his fear.

"I'm sorry... P..please...ja..Jacinta" He fell to his knees. He felt like he was in some kind of horror movie but he knew this was different because it was real. Jacinta's ghost pointed at him with one long finger, "You will pay for this!" She disappeared.

Kayode was too frightened to move but when he realised he was the only one in the room, he quickly grabbed his suitcase and blazer and fled out of the room.

DEMENTIA EPISODE 6

EPISODE 6
She was in a dream. The most beautiful dream ever. Her mother was with her in a beautiful garden which had the most brilliantly coloured and exquisite flowers In the world. Her mother carried her in her arms and they passed through the garden admiring the flowers and smelling them one by one. There was so much joy and laughter between them. Suddenly, the clouds turned dark as a heavy storm approached. The garden seemed to loose its life as all the beautiful flowers withered all at once and instead of being surrounded by the exquisite scent of the flowers, a foul smell hung in the air. Her mother felt weaker and weaker but tried to hold on to her daughter. Her strength failed her soon enough because she fell to the ground. Rachel suddenly felt strong hands around her. The touch was familiar, it belonged to her father. He carried her and walked away whispering his familiar words in her ear, "It's okay. It won't hurt". She struggled with him to let her stay with her mother but he didn't budge. She saw her mother crying and felt her own tears come. Her mother's tears became as much as a flood and then she disappeared.

Rachel awoke with a start. She quickly put on her bedside lamp and drew her blanket up to her chin. It was a dream but it had felt so real like her mother had really been there. The pain she was feeling was real and when she touched her cheeks, they were really wet meaning she cried in real life too. After her mother died, seeing her in dreams was a frequent occurrence and they were always happy with each other but this was different. Her mother was sad, extremely unhappy and it was not with her, but with her father. She was extremely shaken and scared. She couldn't run to her father for fear that even if he'd already had her that night, he would still want her again and she desperately needed to talk to someone so she took out her mother's picture  which was in a frame and always sat beside her bed side lamp. She touched the picture. Her mother was smiling and looked so alive in it. She spoke,"Mum, its me. Rachel. Can you hear me?" She continued, "I miss you so much mum. You seemed really unhappy in my dream today. We used to have so much fun. Why were you sad? Did dad hurt you? He misses you so much and that's why he does those things to me." She sighed again. She was speaking to someone who couldn't respond but she continued, "But it frightens me mum, it hurts me a lot but I'll get over it. Just for dad. Just to make him happy cause that's what you want right?"

She kept talking until a gentle breeze wafted through her windows lulled her to sleep and so she didn't see her mother when she sat beside her and watched her sleep.

DEMENTIA EPISODE 5

EPISODE 5
He opened the door gently and peeped in. Her bedside lamp was still on and she was sitting on the bed with a drawing book open in front of her as she painted on it with her face puckered in seriousness. He entered the room and sat beside her. He noticed she was painting all over the paper with a red crayon. He asked, "Why are you painting with just red?" She didn't look at him as she responded. "There was blood, a lot of it the first time it happened".
He was about to ask what she meant when realisation dawned on him. "I'm sorry" he shifted closer to her and held her hands in his "I never knew it was this much."
She met his gaze with her eyes glassy with tears "Are we doing the right thing dad?" She asked "If you tell me it's right then I'll not feel the pain anymore. I'll try not to. I'll trust you"
The innocence, the sincerity in her voice touched him and he wanted to tell her the truth, to tell her that he is only blinded by his lust and the death of her mother was making him lose his sanity but he said instead, " It is, you have to make us happy. So that we can forget about mum" he didn't know where those words came from. His lust had grown so strong, it has a mind of it's own.
She nodded slowly, "Okay". She accepted. He shifted closer so that his head was on the headrest and she sat beside him. She closed her eyes and a tear escaped from her eye as he gently stroke her body. Daddy said its good, its not bad. Daddy's always right isn't it?

THE RENAISSANCE OF DESENSITIZATION

'The Renaissance of Desensitization 1/6'

This morning I woke up and the first thing I reached for was my phone, it was a sort of subconscious process. I then spent 10 minutes browsing instagram and another 5 on Facebook where I read about the Brazilian team that died in flight. I went and showered; thereafter I started my prayer and mid-way through such my phone rang, I broke prayer turned it off then resumed praying.

As I got up a notification popped up on my screen it was a CNN broadcast of a supposed
act of terrorism, my mind and spirit sunk. I got into my car and began driving whilst contemplating all that I've mentally consumed upon waking up. A few minutes into driving I was passing a high school and a kid (no older than 13) walked out into the road whilst engaging with his phone. I almost hit him, luckily I was only going about 20km per hour. I slammed on the brakes, he glanced at me while partially in the road then scuttled across the street; seemingly unfazed he carried on just the same, head to phone, mind consumed, zombie mode intact.

It brought back memories of all the videos and photos I've seen on social media with people fighting, crying and even dying while others record and snap photos whilst scrambling for the best angle and lighting; some even encourage it all for the sake of likes, views and status. This is not humanity, it is depravity. A super imposed ideology which has torn down the very foundation of our morality. We are becoming what we aren't,  dying while living.  We are the living dead.

DEMENTIA EPISODE 4

EPISODE 4
It was a Thursday evening and Morenike, Kayode's elder sister came visiting. He appreciated the fact that she came but  he felt she was wasting his time. Ever since the night he had Rachel, he always wanted her and tonight wasn't an exception. Everything she said he wasn't listening only nodding at intervals to make her feel like he was. It was  only when Morenike called Rachel out of her room that he became alert.
At first, Morenike was smiling when she saw her little niece emerging but when she noticed the way Rachel walked which was as if she was avoiding closing her legs, she frowned and that frown deepened when she saw how pale Rachel looked when she stood in front of her.
Rachel smiled weakly at her aunt, "Good evening ma" she said quietly. "How are you?" Morenike asked in a concerned tone. She wasn't referring to her mother's death, but to the general well being of the girl. The Rachel she was seeing was different from the one she knew. This Rachel was quiet and looked very sick. She responded that she was fine but Morenike knew she really wasn't.
Kayode stared keenly at his sister. He knew she was noticing some things were amiss. His sister was very smart and observant and very little got past her. In order to allay any suspicion from her mind, he said,"She's doing well. Only that she's missing her mother so much". He smiled shakily at his daughter who responded by facing sideways.
"Aunty, can I go back to my room? I was doing my assignment". Rachel asked. Her aunt nodded and she left. Morenike looked at the way she walked till she disappeared into her room then she stared back at Kayode. "Rachel seems very sick. And why is she walking like that?"
The concern in her voice shook Kayode and he stammered, "She's fine... Its just Jacinta.. That's all". Morenike heaved a sigh "Hmmm.. Well, she can come to my place for the weekend. There she can play with my kids  and I can mother her for a while. I think she needs a woman around" she suggested.
"No. She can't" Kayode said in a final tone.
Morenike was taken aback he never used to stop Rachel from coming to her house "Why?..she needs it so..." She didn't finish her statement as Kayode rudely interrupted, "I've said she can't come, don't push it." He snapped. Though she was surprised by his sudden outburst, she didn't say more on the matter. She wisely switched to other topics and after staying for thirty more minutes, she left.
Kayode heaved a sigh of relief after he saw her off. "Imagine!" He thought," She wanted to take Rachel away for a whole weekend! What is the meaning of that? So he won't be able to enjoy fully the gift his wife had left him? So that she would find out what's really going on? No way!" He shook his head vehemently as he strode towards Rachel's room.

DEMENTIA EPISODE 3

EPISODE 3
Her eyes flew open when she felt the gentle caress on her body. He smiled at her and he continued his probing of her body. "Dad, what are you doing?" She asked in an alarmed but quiet tone.
"I'm only showing you how much I love you. This is the way I used to show your mother". All sensible thoughts flew from his head as he continued touching her in her secret places. The dark side of him urged him to go further.
She was scared as she didn't understand what exactly her father was doing but he had said he loved her right? So he can't hurt her. She let herself relax even if she had started feeling pains. "Don't worry. It won't hurt". He promised as he lay atop her with his weight was crushing her. She cried out in pain when he finally entered her.
Somewhere in his subconscious he knew what he was doing was very wrong but it felt so good that he couldn't stop. He kept on pushing in oblivious of the splitting pain his daughter felt.
She was sobbing loudly and pleading with him to stop but Kayode was deaf to her pleas. He was panting and moaning as he continued what he was doing. Her father had suddenly become a monster and not the compassionate man she knew. She was scared, frightened of this new man that stole her innocence so recklessly.

DEMENTIA EPISODE 2

EPISODE 2
He took another glassful of the whiskey. He knew he was getting tipsy and should stop but Kayode Johnson just couldn't bring himself to. He had taken Rachel to school that morning and hadn't left the house since then. That night, after Rachel went to bed he stayed awake drinking. He wallowed himself in brooding and thinking. Jacinta Johnson, his wife, was everything a man could ever dream of. Curvy and beautiful, amazing and attentive to her family, awesome cook, she was too perfect. That was why she was taken away. She wasn't meant for this world. After hours of thinking he had resigned himself to fate. Jacinta is gone now, to where he can never reach her and everyone expects him to step up and ensure a good life for Rachel but there was this loneliness. This longing in his heart that he felt. He needed to satisfy himself. He had to stop being this miserable he decided.
He finally downed the whole glass of whisky and looked up at the time. It was 11:30PM. He staggered from the chair he was sitting and walked towards the direction of his bedroom. On his way, he passed by Rachel's room and decided some where in his subconscious to check on her. He staggered toward the bed and noticed that she hadnt used the blanket. He was about to cover her up and paused when he noticed how truly beautiful her legs were. The night gown she was wearing had a low neck cut and he could see the outline of her breasts. He instantly became aroused and suddenly wanted to fill up that space, that loneliness with her.
Innocent Rachel, slept oblivious of the things she was stirring in a man she called her father. He gently touched her face and went against the little voice somewhere in his head that was telling him to stop but then he continued because he felt that space in his heart finally filling up as he touched her. He rubbed her neck down to her chest. The skin felt so smooth and soft just like Jacinta's. He felt at ease as he caressed her. Just as if his Jacinta had come back to him.

DEMENTIA

DEMENTIA
             EPISODE 1
Rachel held on to her father's hand as she watched him. He was seated on one of the living room chairs and was looking into space, sighing at intervals. He had just lost his wife, Rachel's mother to a ghastly motor accident two weeks ago and he had been shattered since then
He looked up at his daughter with his reddening eyes and cupped her cheek "You look very much like your mother you know". He hugged her, "Hmmm, you smell like her too".
She hugged him tightly with all the strength a nine year old could muster. "I just want you to stop crying dad". She whispered in his ears. "I want you to be okay".
He smiled and let go of her "I will my dear but its not easy for daddy". He studied his daughter as she stood opposite him with her eyes widened innocently. Her flat chest had started becoming ripe as her breasts had started growing. His eyes caressed her from her head to her toe. She was wearing a tiny strapped singlet and shorts that emphasized her fair smooth legs. Over the last few days he'd been struggling with a few things. The death of his wife was one and he was noticing how his nine year old daughter was growing fast and stirring certain things in him that he didn't understand. He was feeling something for her that had nothing to do with fatherly love.
She faced him with her look of innocence and asked "Should I get you some water?"
He nodded and watched her go, her behind had also started taking shape. she was going to grow up to be as beautiful as her mother was. He shook himself as he jolted from his obscene observations. The death of his wife was beginning to affect him mentally for he knew he had begun to lust after his own child.

17 PRINCIPLES FOR AN AMAZING 2017

Happy new year beautiful one😊
2016 came as a bang and now it's over.
Welcome to 2017!
I don't know about you but my 2017 is going to be mind-blowing and totally phenomenal. I have so much good vibes already about the year ahead.
I know the usual tradition is to make new year resolutions(new year,  new me.
..). Not bad, but then resolutions are made to be broken.
Making or not making new year resolutions does not guarantee you a fabulous year.
What can actually help you have a better year than the previous one is to be guided by a set of flexible but effective basic life principles. These principles are not rules that should be strictly adhered to. In fact,  there are no penalties attached. But applying these principles to your life this year would help you to a good extent.
Here are 17 basic principles I have been able to gather, some from prolonged usage and acceptance while some are from my personal experience.

1. Genuine happiness comes from the little insignificant things of life. A smile here,  a hug there,  a little help,  a little push. To be happy, smile often. Make your smile wider and give bigger hugs this year. Laugh as much as you can.

2. For peace of mind,  be yourself and love you for who you are. Do not beg anyone to accept you because whatever requires begging to get will also require begging to maintain.

3. Be humble but selective. Being selective does not mean you are proud or arrogant. It simply means you know your worth. If you are conscious of your personality,  you will avoid too much familiarity.

4. For spiritual growth, seek God 's face and not His hands. God is not just one giant Santa Claus sitting up there, he is also a loving father who genuinely craves our attention. Develop an intimacy with God not just for what you will get but because you love HIM. He wants a relationship with you and not just a situationship

5. For good health,  stay away from envy,  strife, malice and hate. Remember,  Health is wealth!

6. For a glowing skin and healthy body,  eat more fruits and vegetables (your proteins are also important). Drink a lot of water

7. Give out too many compliments till it becomes a habit.

8. Self -confidence is the best outfit you can ever own. Own it and rock it well.

9. Be slow to speak,  slow to anger and swift to listen. You learn more while listening not while talking. Speech is silvery but silver is gold.

10. Spend quality time with family and friends.

11. Set realistic goals,  stay quiet about them and then smash them. Think BIG!

12. Pray a lot. Before you worry, before you panic, pray first.

13. Give more than you receive. Not just money or material things but also your time, attention, ideas and service.

14. Easy does it. Most times,  we take life so seriously and things get unecessarily complicated then we become unhappy. Go easy on life this year. Take it one day at a time!

15. Embrace simplicity.

16. Expect less from people and lean totally on God.

17. Be happy. Make up your mind to be genuinely, sincerely,  constantly and helplessly happy.

I hope this helps. Have a fabulous 2017! Remember to share and leave your comments 😘😘
