 Learn to ignore and overlook many things if you truly want happiness in life  because the easiest way to a miserable life is to think that everybody is talking about you.

Never allow anyone to steal your joy from you.

What people say behind your back is none of your business as long as you are true to yourself. Never worry yourself about that.

Sometimes minding your own business does not keep people out of your business.

No matter your situation in life people will always talk. You can never stop people from talking about you, what you can do is to stop giving them what to talk about.

There is a time limit for every rumor in life. Never allow freelance broadcasters put your life on hold. Do what makes you happy. Anyone who cannot feel your pain, has no right to judge you in life. Seventy percent of those who talk bad about you behind your back, wish to be like you.

When people can't be like you they try to bring you down and condemn what you have. Those without money will sarcastically say money is not everything in life. (Is poverty anything?)

Never allow anyone to put you in a position of depression and self pity in life. Those whose life has no joy will always find every means to remove happiness from other people's life.

 If there is the GRACE of GOD in your life, then enemies are inevitable. If no one has ever gossiped or talked bad about you, it means nothing good has ever happened to you.

Never feel bad when old friends become new enemies. They are just tired of pretending to be friends.

Never allow the opinions of people who didn't see your tears stop your laughter in life. You don't owe anybody an explanation to be happy.

Never see yourself through the eyes of those who don't value you.
To be beautiful means to be yourself. To stand out is to be out-standing. You do not need to be accepted by others. You just need to accept yourself.

Never beg anyone to accept you for who you are. Anything you acquire through begging will require begging to maintain or retain.

Be humble but selective. Being selective doesn't mean you are arrogant or proud. It simply means you know your worth. If you are conscious of your personality avoid too much familiarity.

Sometimes when you treat people too much like celebrities, they end up treating you like an ordinary person. You are equally important.

Never downgrade yourself while trying to upgrade anybody in life. Anyone who sees you like an option doesn't deserve to be a priority in your life.

The dream of a fool is for everybody to become a bloody fool like himself.  Avoid negative people if you have a dream. Those without mission will say your vision is just an illusion.

Negative minds will never give you a positive life. Anyone who is always reminding you about what is wrong with you has a personal problem which he/she wants to take out on you.

Most people spend half of their entire life analysing the faults in other people's life, when their own lives need urgent repairs.

Never worry yourself about enemies and friends, because everybody in your life will eventually fall into one of the two categories.

Some will hate you and some will love you. Loving you or hating you are both in your favour. When people love you, you live peacefully and happily in their hearts,  and when people hate you, you become the landlord in their head living painfully in their brain everyday and giving them sleepless nights.
 Ponder on these words. Have a lovely night rest!

SALVATION : BY WORKS OR BY FAITH?
Hmmmm. Hi guys. Christmas is in the air and I believe we are all excited (I am too), not just because of the rice and the chicken but because of the significance of Christmas( The Christ in the Christmas)

Over 2,000 years ago, this very special being came into the world in a very unorthodox way and that marked the beginning of a new era in the entire world. For me, that's literally the best Christmas present of all times...
Getting down to the topic of the day, Salvation, is it by works or by faith?
This is one subject that has aroused a lot of controversy and debate among believers and otherwise.
But first of, what does it mean to be saved? 
According to the Dictionary, to be saved means to be rescued from  possible harm or injury.
From the above definition, I can paint a scenario. Imagine there's a heavy storm and a ship sinking,can the ship rescue itself? An external force has to intervene to rescue the ship.
Hence, first point to note is we cannot save ourselves by our works. 'Works' in this context implies 'keeping the law' because our righteousness are like filthy rags before God. We cannot work out our salvation.

Trying to work out your salvation by your own power or limited wisdom will only keep you in bondage to that law. This is why many believe Christianity is for only those that are strong or "holy holy" people. Trust me, Christians can be the weakest set of people. The only thing that makes the difference in them is that they have admitted that they need help as they can't make it on their own and have consequently, submitted to a superior force. Just like a sinking ship cannot save itself, believers are set of people that have admitted that they cannot help themselves and have found help and strength in Christ Jesus. Thus, dear friend, if you attempt to save yourself by works or by your doing, you will end up in a shipwreck.

Salvation is not about doing but becoming. 

Salvation in its essence means believing in Jesus as the only son of God and the moment you believe, you BECOME a son of God yourself. John 1:12
Before Christ came into this world, sin was rampant and yes, there was the law which required the people to WORK out their salvation but were they saved? NO. the law only brought about consciousness of sin and kept the people in some sort of mental bondage. (This is why some still believe Christianity is boring). Sin ate deep into the hearts of men and there was a partition between man and God.

Jesus Christ came as an appeal to reconciliation.

The son of God became the son of man , He came as a  sacrifice for atonement through the shedding of His blood. You see, just at the right time,  when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly - Romans 5:6
Just as sin came into the world by one man and condemned all of us to death, Jesus Christ died to bring an end to the law and brought justification by faith through grace.

 Hence, the end of the law is faith.

If you still think Christianity is all about trying to be holier than the person next to you or by keeping the 10 commandments, you are still getting it wrong!
Romans 3: 20 - Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law; rather through the law, we become conscious of our sin.
And if you are out there and you think you cannot be saved because you cannot keep God's commandments, you are just the type God loves the most. All you need do is believe wholeheartedly in Jesus and His righteousness becomes your righteousness.
In plain English, God is not asking you to do anything, all the doing ended over 2,000 years ago when God decided to watch His only begotten son bleed in pain that you and I might be saved. So we are not under the law but under grace, Jesus washed away ALL our sins and drank the full cup of God's wrath now we can cry "Abba Father!"
So my darling, God is not angry with you. There's nothing you can do now or later that will ever makes him angry with you because Jesus soaked up all his wrath, fury and anger.
If you think God will punish or reject you because of your sin, then you are saying your sin is greater than Jesus the son of God who died for that very sin. Impossible!

I know many of us actually want to do good and live right for God but we find it very difficult. Even Paul, despite how righteous he was, attested to this fact.
In Romans 7 : 14, Paul said "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do but what I hate I do
He went further to state in Verse 22, "For in my inner being I delight in God's law but I see another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 
You see! No one is actually exempted. Although we want to do good,  evil is right there within us due to the adamic nature.
But take the first step, accept that someone paid for the life that you are living. Accept Jesus as your Savior and redeemer, the One who saved you from sin and death and gave you grace and Eternal life. Once you accept Christ, the Holy Spirit takes over. The Holy Spirit is the one that does all the work in you while you gradually BECOME a full fledged Son of God.
Righteousness is of the heart by the Spirit not by the law. The new law of God requires faith not works.
I hope someone somewhere has been blessed by this. I will encourage us all to read the entire book of Romans in the Bible if we really want to learn about Salvation and how it works. The book of Romans says it allAll I have written above , you can find it there. Just in case, you are out there and you are saying "you know what? Enough of the struggling, I want to personally encounter this Jesus", it's really simple. Say this prayer :
Lord Jesus, I thank you for your unconditional love,  I thank you for loving me even before I understood what love meant. I know I'm unworthy.  I accept you this day as my Lord and Savior. From now henceforth, take over my heart,my deeds,  my thoughts, my will and my life. Thank you Father!

THE CART

Everybody has a story to tell... I am still living mine." They say Life is not fair. I say life is fair because it's unfair to all."
My father tried all he could, he avoided the advances of Life, but he got raped by Life.
 At a tender age my father knew what it felt like to be molested by Life, he lived with that shame. He lost his self-confidence because Life was everywhere laughing at his failure. He was mocked and his esteem depleted. But father had to move on, he survived on crumbs and scavenged the streets. He took up energy draining jobs with little pay. My father spent most of his years engrossed in his thought wishing he never met Life.

 Now my father wants all that years back, but sadly he can't. My father has spent a lot of years with Life and has known all her tricks and gimmicks, now my father knows how to manipulate Life. Every morning, he will charge us(his seven children) with a speech ending it with "Life Will Not Get You" ...believe me I have no iota of understanding what he really meant. As a kid I had no worries, no responsibilities, just living life as it is served. But now as I get older I can sense the advances of Life. She's everywhere waiting for fatigue to set in so she can take advantage of me. She wants me to live the fate of my father. But father already taught me how to go about Life when she puts a road block before me...

Now I understand what all those unnecessary heavy knocks were for,those unnecessary yelling from father, those grounding, those gruesome drilling, those denials of my wants. Father understands my every reason for steps I took but he chose to misunderstand me, unknown to me, he was teaching me how to go about life when she grips me by the throat... Six years ago(2010) father introduced another means of preparing us for a battle against life, "The Cart"

I swang into a state of melancholia when he presented it and wondered how this was a weapon against life. "We can't do this it's a dirty job" I and my siblings wept.
Without any preparation, we hit the street and began to use this weapon. In the first few months, the cart did more harm than good. I lost friends who wouldn't want to be identified with a cart pusher, I lost my dignity and respect, I lost my reputation of being a lowly guy and people had wrong perceptions about me. I was discriminated, I was stigmatized, I was belittled, those are the worst that could ever happen.

Tick-tock says the clock, it's six years gone the block. Several wars fought, with life winning but a few. The cart still intact like a newly coupled car. Father is proud of his warriors. The cart was able to generate enough income to buy I and my siblings a private education, something my father never had. I never had all I want but I had all I needed, the love, the care, the support, the advice, the time and commitment from father and family. I am going somewhere, the paths might be bushy and steep but the destination is glaring. I've grown too big and strong for life to maneuver like a puppet, father and the cart already prepared me for this day and I won't fail either of them. The camera is still rolling, I'm still living my story, the type with a happy ending.

HOW DONALD TRUMP WON THE U.S PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

Donald J. Trump victory in the presidential race on Tuesday night capped a remarkable election in which several Democratic Senate candidates fell short and Republicans retained their majority in the House of Representatives. Here are some key takeaways from a stunning result that upended conventional expectations and set the stage for a drastic reordering of politics in Washington:

• Mr. Trump took the stage at the Hilton just before 3 a.m. and told his supporters that Hillary Clinton called him to concede the election. Striking a gracious note, he wished her well and said, “We owe her a major debt of gratitude for her debt to our country.”

• Reading from teleprompters and flanked by Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana and his son, Barron, Mr. Trump said he wanted to “reclaim our country’s destiny” and be bold and daring. He also called for unity and said that he hoped Democrats and Republicans would work together.

• Democratic hopes that Hillary Clinton would easily defeat Mr. Trump crumbled as the evening wore on, as the Republican candidate’s bombastic style appeared to win significant support among white, working-class and rural voters across the country.

• Mrs. Clinton’s loss seemed to result, in part, from a worse-than-expected showing among African-Americans and young voters — two important parts of the coalition that lifted President Obama to victories in 2008 and 2012.

— Black voters made up 12 percent of the national electorate this year, nearly the same as in 2012. Mrs. Clinton won a broad majority of black voters — 88 percent, compared with 8 percent for Mr. Trump. But Mr. Obama received 93 percent of the African-American vote four years ago.

— Mrs. Clinton also did slightly worse than Mr. Obama among young voters. People under 30 made up 19 percent of this year’s electorate, the same as in 2012. Mrs. Clinton got 54 percent of their support, compared with Mr. Obama’s 60 percent. Mr. Trump had the backing of 37 percent of voters under 30, the same percentage that Mitt Romney won in 2012.

— Mr. Trump won in part on his strength with voters who were not strongly identified with either party. Independents made up 31 percent of 2016 voters, compared with 29 percent in 2012. Mrs. Clinton won 42 percent of independents, compared with Mr. Trump’s 47 percent, while 6 percent voted for Gary Johnson and 3 percent supported Jill Stein.

— In the key battleground of Florida, Mr. Trump built his support largely on voters who expressed deep dismay with Washington. Nearly nine in 10 of his voters in Florida said they were dissatisfied or angry with the state of the federal government. Just as many disapproved of Mr. Obama’s job performance, and three-quarters thought the president’s health care law went too far.

— Nearly four in 10 Florida voters said they were most interested in electing a president who would bring serious change, and Mr. Trump won that group by a broad margin. Mrs. Clinton won voters looking for a compassionate, experienced or more judicious leader — but it was not enough to cancel out Mr. Trump’s support among those hungry for change.

— Hispanic voters made up 11 percent of voters nationwide in 2016, just 1 point higher than in 2012. While Mrs. Clinton got 65 percent support among Hispanics, compared with 29 percent for Mr. Trump, her support from this group was 6 points lower than Mr. Obama’s in 2012.

— While Mrs. Clinton did better than Mr. Trump among nonwhite voters in Florida, it was not enough to offset his success with white voters, who skew older in the state. He won those by nearly 2 to 1, including those with a college degree. One-quarter of Florida’s electorate was white and over 60. Mr. Trump pulled most of his support from the Gulf Coast and the central part of the state, a hub for wealthy retirees, offsetting Mrs. Clinton’s gaping lead in the Miami and Orlando areas.

— Mr. Trump also did well in Ohio, where voters ages 18 to 29 were 11 points less likely to support the Democratic candidate this year than in 2012, with Mr. Johnson and Ms. Stein capturing 7 percent of their votes. Black voters in Ohio were 6 points less likely to support Mrs. Clinton than they were to support Mr. Obama four years ago.

— In North Carolina, 30 percent of voters were nonwhite, and Mrs. Clinton won this group by a 62-point margin (79 percent to 17 percent). Mr. Trump, countering with a strong showing among whites, won the state.

— The suburban share of the North Carolina vote increased to 38 percent, from 28 percent in 2012, while the share of the rural vote decreased by 10 points, to 24 percent. Mr. Trump won majorities in both groups.

Inspire Young Leaders Summit(IYLS) - 2 DAYS TO GO!!

The Inspire Young Leaders Summit 2016
The Inspire Young Leaders Summit (IYLS) is an annual national summit that brings young leaders (delegates) from the top fifty (50) Universities across Nigeria, together with elite leaders in our society. One of its primary aims is to create a forum where the delegates are enlightened on the various aspects of our society, so that through this knowledge they can mould the future of Nigeria and hence, Africa. The summit takes students out of the walls of their classrooms to give them a holistic view of the situation of Nigeria and how, through individual efforts fuelled by their education and passion, they can make a significant difference to our world.
 The pilot summit kicks off this year, with the theme: Dreams Of Prospective Evolutionaries (D.O.P.E). The summit will be admitting ten (10) delegates each from the top fifty (50) Institutions in Nigeria, with the host Institution having an admission of over 1000 delegates. The representation of Institutions at the summit cuts across the demography and types of tertiary Institutions in Nigeria to the best degree possible. The summit will be held from the 10th - 12th of November, 2016 and will be widely covered by the press; it aims to be a turning point upon which a positive change on the outlook of youths in Nigeria begins.

Hey dear friends! It's been really hard posting everyday since my phone breakdown but... It is well!
Can i call you purple? Yes i can!
Hello purple. How was your week? Any rough day or sad event ? Guess what? All that ended yesterday.
We are launching into a new week tomorrow .
Things may not be the way you want them to be.
Things may not be perfect and creamy and rosy,
Things may not happen the way you pictured it in your head,
You may not get that contract or that grade or that good news you have been anticipating ,
But guess what?
It's a brand new week, filled with hope and light.
You only know of what happened last week or yesterday ,
You don't know what will happen tomorrow,
You might just be standing at the entrance of your breakthrough ,
If you give up now, then why the wait all this while?
I say again my dear friend , Do not give up!
Stay strong. Stay brave. Encourage yourself. Help is on its way !
Jesus is our ever present help in times of trouble and he loves you so much he would do anything just to make you smile. . . Literally anything !
So brace up darling :)
Pick up your crown and keep going.
Things may be going bad around you but the Bible says  where there is a casting down, there's a lifting up for God's children.
There might be recession but we do not partake in the economy of this world, we partake in God's economy.
You know, the best time to give is actually in time of lack, that's what is called SACRIFICIAL GIVING!( you don't have, yet out of the little, yoy are willing to give all if possible) . You can never go unrewarded, mark my words!
It's a simple principle , give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, press down, shake it together so shall men give unto you! Do you know what that means? Your bank account will overflow with money , your problem will be how to spend it.
Just hold on to God's promises, apply biblical principles and the blessings will be yours.
Never say never no matter how frustrating things might get. Don't be discouraged .

THAT GIRL

THAT GIRL

So many years of restriction

Lost in the city of perdition

Everyone around seem to be doing fine

Laughing, living and a ll you can mention

But all i did was to just exist,

No moments, no stories i’d rather not take the risk

Blending in was not the problem for i knew the drill

The girl of many talents but i held back still

The little i do i get so many applauds.

I wonder what will happen when i release it all

I am that girl that seeks perfection

I am that girl that bottles up emotion,

I am that girl that is scared of attention,

Yet i don’t want my life to be a fiction.

If only i knew how they do it,

Then i would be able to fix the pieces

If only i had a clue

Then the puzzle won’t be such a mystery,

If only i could figure it out,

The answers to the riddles, the key to the hurdles,

Then it would be much easier,

I am that girl who does not have the  luxury of easy,

But  I don’t want to be that girl anymore,

I want to live, laugh, love,

I think i’ve had enough,

I want to flip over and see what’s on the other side of the coin,

So many moments untouched,

So many opportunities unattained,

For fear that i might not be the same.

Maybe i am meant to be that kind of girl,

Maybe i was wired that way,

With all the perfect moments  in my head,

I know when to play and when to pause,

So calculated...yet this is not Algebra.

I don’t want to be Physics,

I want to be Chemistry,

 I want to mix various potions and  see the reactions,

I don’t want to be Facebook,

I want to be Snapchat,

With my stories so captivating, fam can’t pick a fave,

I don’t want to be a one-way route,

I want to be a T-junction,

With  several channels leading to one destination,

I want to live life like it ought to be lived,

I want to laugh hard till i can barely breathe,

I want to take risks that will make me free,

I just want to be me with nothing hidden.

LYING IN RELATIONSHIPS ; GREED OR SELFISHNESS?

Not everything looks the way they really are. For example, others can differentiate between selfishness and greed, I can't. So what might look selfish to you might look the same to me but it doesn't mean our definition or use of the word corresponds.
For me, selfishness means loving yourself so much you barely spare a thought for others. Greed, at the same level is thinking about yourself when other people should have featured in your consideration.
So when someone displays such act and I point out that "oh this is so selfish" I sometimes get 'corrected' with something like "no he is just being greedy."
I refuse to argue, usually because I realize that our opinion may never be the same.

When someone lies to you, irrespective of the relationship between you and that person, they have taken something away from you. They stole, hijacked knowledge from you. Maybe they were preventing an outburst from you, but it is just like stealing my money away from me because you don't like how I spend it.
Some times, people lie to you to 'protect you'. This is not always true but you alone can judge that situation.
The question is "what stems consistent lying? "
When you for example find out that your partner is a consistent liar to perhaps their parents, friends, or even strangers, what does it say to you? You might not suspect him/her of lying to you but you should be worried. Not worried that they'll lie to you someday but worried that they constantly consider their interest over that of other people. Be worried that their mind is being slowly or has already being programmed to defend their interest over that of people they should love. Worry about the fact that they probably can't face their mistakes and rather lie about it. Then ask yourself, do you really know someone that lies without conscience? Someone who is a good actor in a real life situation. Remember there is no honor among thieves. Lying is stealing information from another because of what you WANT out of the situation. Yeah, no body is a saint but some people are serpents. Beware. You don't want to spend the rest of your life with a stranger. You want to know what it means when they yawn you don't want to have doubt's about their whereabouts even when they have just called you to inform you. You don't want a dishonest person bringing up your children or maybe you're one? It makes your loved ones feel bad to be unsure about your assurance. It doesn't matter how difficult it is, you have to change. In fact I'd advice anyone in a relationship with such people to cut off the connection.

IF YOU'RE A CHRONIC LIAR, MY RECOMMENDATION IS THAT YOU FIRST EMBRACE AND LOVE YOURSELF, I MEAN ALONG WITH YOUR HIDDEN FLAWS, YOUR MISTAKES AND EXCUSES, YOUR FEAR AND SHAME. LOVE YOURSELF SO THAT THE RIGHT PEOPLE(PROBABLY NOT THE ONES YOU LOVE ALREADY) ALONE WOULD LOVE YOU.
And start having compassion for your brethren. That way, you'll consider what is good for them before you lie to them.
Is LOVE not the greatest commandment after all?

Now we have day

FORGOTTEN FRIENDSHIPS

Sometimes life appears to revolve around one or more people/thing so much that it seems without them life would not revolve at all. Then time happens and change follows, we move on and they become a memory.
It is pretty much the same concept in most unions. There is a period to meet, a period of friendship (no matter how brief) followed by a period of loving. We discover attraction and a desire to create love together during this period of friendship only to forget the friendship after the love is discovered.
Life will revolve around whatever/whoever we throw at it so if we take away friendship from our homes, life will find other things to thrive on.
But I ask, how can you love any other than a friend?
How can you continue to love without friendship?
We are running homes where friendship has exited the back door. Friendless love. It took with it, romance and sincere care, the desire to talk, share random messages, and just have fun.
We are always going to have challenges to deal with but friendship will always come before love.

THE RISE OF DOLLAR : AN OPPORTUNITY IN DISGUISE

SAILING WITH THE WIND.

Somehow, in any conversation I have an opportunity to engage in that concerns the situation of Nigeria I keep seeing people point upwards.
It goes without saying that our leaders are what we call them.
Yet, one thing we fail to address is who we are.

It is not a lie that our leaders are stealing from us. It is also not a lie that we are using them as an excuse for all our shortcomings. How long before we blame our creator?
Because it is worthless pointing fingers without proffering solutions I'll spill out my volcanic emotions and very quickly forge a cross. No, an anchor. Whichever works for you.

An ideology can spring forth many ideas. This is why I'll share this with you and leave the rest of the imaginations to your curiosity and will to explore.

There are problems in the country that themselves open doors of opportunity.
There are problems that don't even need solutions, rather management. I'll give two examples.

I'll like to take credit for the quote "if you sail in the direction of the wind, you won't find it difficult as against the wind. Life favors those who take advantage of the hands of time."

Take for example, the rise of dollar against Naira (or in reality, the fall of Naira against every other currency) presents an enormous opportunity for those who will see and act.

The time an eagle spends soaring is resultant of its capacity to take advantage of the wind. Therefore, it preserves its energy and dares a long distance travel.

A family friend of mine had a side hustle which was the importation of wears from the US. She doesn't do it anymore since "dollar is expensive" and customers can barely afford the new rates of the stock.

What if she decided to start exporting materials that other countries are in need of yet is abundant here? A quick Google search will give you the information you need in that regard.

WHY IS THE RISE OF DOLLAR AN OPPORTUNITY?

We can see that buying dollar is expensive. On the other side of the trade, buying naira is cheap. I mean an American buying an item from a Nigerian would have an advantage of fair price. This means that even if we increase the price(to a certain percentage) of whatever we're selling to this buyer, he'll find it convenient to buy from us.

Feeding has become more expensive. Nigerians must eat no matter what happens. So would it hurt to go into farming? Crude oil is failing us because of the way our government has handled the treasury. Then again, must we wait for the government to farm for us? Must we wait for them to till the very soil we ourselves have neglected? I know someone whose father started buying and reselling yam from one state to several others and built two fuelling stations as well as sponsor all his children through there academic career.

I say you can only look as far as you can see, and you can only see as far as your scope can cover. If blur, change your vision, Buhari cannot help you do that. Even if Obama becomes the president of this country, some problems would remain and these problems are
there for the taking for only those who see the opportunity they conceive.
There is a blessing in disguise you're complaining about. Why not look at it from the other side?

PARADOX OF GAMBLING

"Because of my past loss, I try to stake larger amounts and more frequently hoping to win back my accumulated debts" - Ifeanyi (problem gambler).

"Because of the great 'Luck' I once had,I stake more frequently believing that I'm just one game away from another 'Luck'". - Samuel (problem gambler).

"I'm always overwhelmed by the positive feeling and great chances I see on the forecast board which just makes me give it a try even when I know 'The House Always Wins'". - Fawaz (problem gambler)

Paradoxically, the more you lose the more you stake. Isn't this act questionable? Are you not supposed to deviate from such frivolous act that is to your own peril? Why do problem gamblers still place bets when the chances are extremely low? Why do problem gamblers still place large bets when it is obvious that all the odds are meticulously arranged to the profit of 'The House'.

 Trying to figure out exactly how many people around the world gamble is an inexact science. It's hard
enough to be absolutely certain about the numbers in any one nation, so trying to cobble together a worldwide picture comes with a lot of potential
error.
Still, there are numbers out there, which you might like to check out for yourself.

From my own point of view some of these gamblers have their brains freezed at the point of forecasting and staking because of the excessive adrenaline rush and sheer excitement coupled with the fact their hopes are too high to make them think they'll not lose. From the point of staking they even begin to place budgets on the income that isn't certain yet, so they never think things through. While others are just blinded by this 'illusion of control' believing that they can exert skill over an outcome that is totally based on chance.

  In addition, there are two major events out of all others that causes addiction to gambling, firstly we have:

Near-Misses: This an event in which an outcome of a placed bet is unsuccessful, but is extremely close to the desired outcome. Like your horse finishing second on the race track or you were just one number away from the golden jackpot. Then you say things like "That was close,another try"
"I think I'm getting better at this" "Luck is on my side". All these increases your propensity to become an addict.

While the other event is:

Loss Chasing: This is an event in which a person places a bet frequently and stakes with a larger amount with this distorted perception or believe of having more chances to recoup accumulated debts.

This phenomenon has caused and is still causing a lot of problems in the world today. People are getting into finacial catastrophe, relationships are broken(with man and God), work ethics are affected, children are misled, anxiety, worry, fatigue, depression all sets in, bad attitudes and habits are picked up, people steal to gamble or pay debts.

With all these loss, they still stake more, thinking its a panacea to their problems. What A Paradox!

YOU BEFORE ME

Seen the movie?
Me before you.
Dude was actually selfish, letting go when he loved, just because he was scared of the future.
Although he committed suicide - something I'll never do 🙅.
"Loving can hurt" according to one of the songs played in the movie. Actually, loving won't hurt more if you never gave enough and you let go knowing you could have done better.
What am I on about?

Love is a stairway and missing your step could hurt just more than your foot.
Love is going to change you forever. You're never the same person before you loved when you stop loving.
I guess I'm trying to make three points about myself.
Regrets could be lessons if let be.
1) love is a platform for the other to grow
2) love is bigger than your idea of a perfect relationship. Stop denying yourself and your partner of all the joy you could have.
3) If you find yourself in love with someone taking advantage of your good attributes and abusing them, don't change yourself because they deserve worse than you offer. Rather improve yourself and your worth. They might just hate you for being too good to be true... At least you're that good. Maybe they'll come to terms that they don't deserve you and step up their game. Or maybe you'll finally agree that you're worth your value.

In that movie, the guy had an idea of the relationship he'd rather be in. Even tho he could never have it, he allowed his expectation mar his vision. He couldn't see the beautiful, rare opportunity presented to him. He probably felt he didn't deserve that much. Doesn't this happen everyday around us?
Some months ago, I wrote an article here covering my experience as a guy in different relationships I had. There, I viewed my situation through an unclean spectacle. I saw the faults in others while my spectacles were so stained, no matter were I looked, there were faults. I guess you can say I had issues.

In view of this, I say one bad relationship can destroy the good in you.
You just have to fight to remain who you really are cos in the end, no one cares about your story, they just want your blessings. People will take you for what you can offer.

If you're in a relationship, think about it, what is your essence to your partner? There has to be something, whether material or not, something. After all love is always tied to something.
Only God can truly love you the way you think love actually exists. Humans are known to be in for something.
Be someone, be something, make your partner better, happier, healthier, smarter. Most importantly, make your partner deserve your love. Only your love could make that possible.

CASTING CROWNS

What a day well spent!
I thought to myself as i got down from my uber ride, heading towards the gate. I felt so inspired after listening to the motivational speakers at the event but that inspiration could wait because I could no longer ignore the melodies from my stomach, having had nothing all day other than the sandwich I had packed along with me while leaving. I got into my room, happy to be home at last, after such an eventful day. I managed a change of clothes so I could grab a bite before I pass out. I was really hungry . I took off my denim jacket and the striped dress I was wearing, sat on my bed and to my utmost surprise, the weirdest thing happened...

I wept.

All my life I have always wanted to be this perfect little girl in my perfect little world. I try to fit in as much as I can by doing things that I think will make people like me. I am a worrier by nature so I naturally overthink things. Everything is a big deal to this girl!  Even the most trivial things that others would probably not have given a second thought to, I give a thousand thoughts (no exaggeration... errr well maybe just a little). If I simply make a mistake or say something stupid, I beat myself up all day long, like...God, that was so lame, why did I say that?.

Letting go ain’t one of my strong points, but it’s funny how I forgive easily. I guess that's my forgetful side at work. Nahh I don’t forget things, not that I will hold a grudge or anything like that, but my memory just registers every event in my life efficiently. So people see me as this very tough girl with no emotions. I cry for the most stupid things. Words hurt me a lot, like you can punch me and slap me but don’t talk to me anyhow, I’m very fragile emotionally.

Enough of the 20 Facts about Me!

Now i’m crying for how much time I have wasted trying to be who I am not. I have belittled myself so much that I am like a midget where i was supposed to be a giant. The view of my occupied yet empty life flashed before my very eyes. I had been busy doing nothing and I didn’t even realize it. I thought I had it all together, I thought I was doing great, I thought I was on a mission, I thought I was building a brand, i thought I was creating a name, I thought...

Little did I know that I was on a mission with no vision. Like a lost sheep in the midst of wolves, I delved into any and every thing. I kept saying to myself as long as I am doing something, I am moving forward, I would be alright, so I thought.So many years of pointless struggles, endless travails, needless battles, what was it all for?.
I was too scared to let go
I was too scared to unveil
I was too scared to be real
I was scared of being me.

I know what this present me looks like and even though it’s not all perfect but quite a number of people still like this version of me but this new me, or rather the real me I have always put away I don’t really know what it looks like, what it feels like, what if it’s not cool? what if everyone hates me for me? what if the me now is better than the real me? what if...

I flood my head with these thoughts and sink in the ocean of panic, day in day out. I keep the act going . I go about my routine smiling and making faces in selfies like hell yes I want to be authentic but for now I will just live!

The morning is gone, day becomes night, curtains are closed, make-up is off and I am all alone again. There’s that heavy burden in my heart, like fifty bags of cement lying on my chest. That feeling of emptiness in the midst of plenty, that feeling of wanting so much more.

I smiled all day long. My smiles are a killer trust me, might have pierced through a soul or two. That smile might have given hope to a few, but the spot left untouched was my very own heart , which was bleeding from the pain of rejection by my inner self. Constant raging demons clamouring for peace !

Now I am just sitting here, writing in tears, the pain flooding my heart greater than the trickles from my eyes. How did I come this far from reality? When did i stoop so low? A rat in the jungle when my place is with the lions. Where did I go wrong? The voices of anguish screaming in my head, what is the way out? It cannot end this way, no, there must be a happy ending somewhere.

Though I am no Cinderella, my glass slipper is missing. I have been holding on to one half for so long it hurts. I am tired of walking on my toes and hopping on one leg of my glass slipper...I have to find my balance. I want to stand again! This time not on my toes but on my feet, with a complete pair of glass slippers.

Where can i find my glass slipper? Somebody... anybody? Will some handsome prince charming return it back to me? Or will i have to ride the horse’s back all by myself to get it back? Who will rescue me from this dilemma? I have rode horses so high and tall in the past but this particular horse i am scared to ride on, the fear of the unknown, the road uncertain, my feet filled with blisters from past mistakes.

You know what? I am tired of running, i am tired of riding, i am just going to wait in solitude. Like Cinderella did, I am not going back to the royal ball to get my glass slipper, I will wait for my knight in shining armour. I have tried it my own way several times, this time I am going to do it differently. I am giving up my ego, my pride, my selfishness, my greed, my deceit, my vanity, my ways...casting my crowns! *takes make-up off, lets hair down, takes first breath of freedom*
Whoof! she sighs.

LESSONS
1) Your missing glass slipper is your purpose. Until you discover your purpose, you are living a lie!
2) You can never feel complete if you are living outside God's purpose for you.
3) Don't be too quick to judge anyone because you have no idea what they are going through. Be as compassionate and sensitive to others as you can.
4) We get so caught up in activities and events that we hardly have time for sober reflection anymore. Once in a  while, try to withdraw from the world and spend time:
 i) with God, you can only find Purpose in the one who  created you.
ii) alone to redefine your values and goals. Just like the girl in the story, she didn't even realize how lost she was until she sat down to think. Every now and then, take out time to refuel yourself or you might burn out!
5) Let go of your pride, ego, selfishness and uptightness and just breathe! Don't take yourself too seriously. Give room for your inner self to express itself.
6) Be humble. No one is competing with you. Cast your crown, you are still king!

PURPLE

The magical colour yet the hardest for the eye to distinguish.
The color of clotted blood, it brightens every garment in a switch.
Royalty, luxury, creativity, nobility are all its prestige.

Why I'm purple?
What purple means to me?
Purple defines my uniqueness, putting my enigmatic nature in bold, walking through a garden of flowers, the purple hibiscus would always get your attention, the very first dye man made. I am the very first of my kind, in a class of its own. Maybe that's why I'm left out in school, maybe that's why everyone points out I'm weird. I could be blue calm where the normals are raving, I could be red eccentric and illogical, in situations that require normal reactions. I am two diverse personalities, as purple is unique mixture of two opposite colours.

I denote a unique minority being purple, like the royals in old Rome. Purple the colour of royals, the colour of pride. I raise my head above the majority because I'm not one of them, I exist a world apart from theirs,. While there's not enough of me in the world, there's too much of them. I was born different, a royal, this is why I'm purple.

My beauty may be invisible to the majority, just some weird dude sitting in a corner, but like purple is the only invisible colour in light's spectrum, it takes something special to find the beauty in me. The beauty Caeser saw in purple that made him declare it unique to royalty alone. The priceless nature the Neto Caeser saw that made him declare wearing anything purple punishable by death for non royals. Only the unique can find the greatness in me.

I stand for purple because I'm expensive, priceless. It's no coincidence that the highest denomination poker chip (5000$) is the colour purple. I'm an embodiment of traits the majority cannot afford, and my influence on the lives of those dear to me cannot be exchanged for materials.

At purplenigma, purple depicts all shades of positivity; positive thinking, positive attitude, positive vibes, positive words, positive change, everything positive. When I say “I’ve got my purple on”, it means i’m on some higher dose of positive, It means don’t bring negative to my doorstep!

Admin :For how long have you been in the fashion biz?

Prettyfaze :Errm do you mean blogging or when I started dressing as a fashionista?

Admin : Both

Prettyfaze: Fashion dressing came first. Since 2012 or so can't really remember and as a matter of fact, I won three awards consecutively in my school amongst Nigerian students. I started blogging Oct 3 2014 :)

Admin : Wow. Really impressive. So what attracted you to the fashion world?

Prettyfaze: Thanks dear. Well i can't really say but even before I got into the Uni, I have always loved dressing up, buying clothes and lots more. I have also loved combining colours both in dressing and other stuffs. I mean I'm good with colours. And over time, I just had to work on what I already had.

Admin  :What has been your greatest challenge so far as a fashion blogger?
Prettyfaze : I will say my greatest challenge will be that of being consistent because to stay relevant in whatever we do we shd be consistent. So struggling with consistency and Medical School .

Admin: What are your achievements so far? 

Prettyfaze:  My achievements so far gosh! First of all everything i have achieved so far was all by God's grace. So i have won fashionista award in my University amongst Nigerian students three times in a row, won most popular nigerian student in my uni once, won the most fashionable international student award in my uni last year, lot's of features on websites and one of the best things that happened to me last week was being featured on the #43 most influential style site in the world as fashion bombshell of the day.  Prettyfaze : Chic and versatile.

Admin : What's your drive? Your audience or for personal satisfaction?

 Prettyfaze : I would say both. My personal satisfaction before i started blogging and my audience when I started blogging and also my personal satisfaction now that I 'm blogging so both :) 

Admin : Do you believe accessories are a major part of dressing? 

Prettyfaze : Yes I believe Accessories are a major part of your outfit because a statement one can spice it up and change the outfit from 0-100 real quick.

Admin: What's that one accessory you can't do without when getting dressed up? 

Prettyfaze : The accessory I can't do without is my bag.

Admin : What's the most lovely and most nasty comment you've received in relation to your fashion sense? 

Prettyfaze : Most lovely comment I have received lol I can't really say since I receive lots of lovely comments but recently it was 'she shows you can be decent and still dress very good'

Most nasty comment-- errm i cant say too but trust people to always find fault in stuffs. Some might be like she should have changed her hair or something is not just right about the outfit.

Admin : Being a medical student, how do you combine studies with modelling/blogging?

Prettyfaze : Combining both will just be based on time planning. There's time for everything :) 

Admin : Do you intend to create a clothing line or a Fashion house in the nearest future? 

Prettyfaze :Yes yes! I intend opening a clothing line or a Fashion house. I love fashion and I believe there's a reason why God had blessed me with it. So its something i really need to do with God on my side :) and at the right time.

Admin : You are obviously a very pretty lady. Any Mr Right or you're still searching?

Prettyfaze : Lol thanks for the complement.

Admin : Hmmm she does not want to talk about it. I understand. So what's your advice to all em fashion lovers out there? 

Prettyfaze : They should just do their thing, put God first and finally Fashion is not a display of wealth :) you don't have to spend all to look good.
