CLOSING THE CURTAINS

Wow, just like that it's the end of another year, 52 weeks, 365 days...by this time tomorrow,  we begin another phase entirely. Who am I not to be grateful?? This blog right here is one of the babies 2015 brought my way and so far so good,  it's been awesome. God has been faithful😇
First of,  I want to thank all those that continually take their time to read my posts,  y'all made me smile this year😊. Thanks for your support and encouragement.
Well I have nothing much to say but as this year comes to a close, look around, you have every reason to thank God. It might not have been a smooth ride for all of us, but in the midst of it all,  we made it! Take out time to appreciate your loved ones and those that were there for you all through the year despite your excesses.
Do not let your little imperfections lead you to the fallacy that you have not achieved anything good in 2015. Trust me,  one way or the other,  you must have made someone smile. People cherish and value you even though they might not always tell you.
So keep being who you are, with daily improvement on your weak points. 2015 was really good,  we believe that 2016 will be better. Keep watching this space! 🙏

Hey there! Yes compliments of the season still. It's been wonderful so far with so much food lol. Well this is just a little piece talking about the importance of not majoring on the minor. So many atimes, we chase after shadows and forget about the most important things. It's time to set your priorities straight! I hope you  enjoy the poem.

To the life where everyone wants to belong,
Constantly seeking for approval, both right and wrong,
To the life where vanity prevails,
And no one seems to feel what anyone says,
Where life has been replaced by a game,
Good and bad,  one and the same,
Justifying their actions with the YOLO meme,
The silhouette has become the main frame,
Stupidity and frivolity enthroned in one name,
Both young and old in search of fame,
Not caring even if the beast they untame,
Little they forget that life is simply smoke,
The hustling and famzing, nothing but a joke,
Wait until life gives you a hard stroke,
Them simplicity and moderation you will invoke...

WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME

Good morning purplenigmers! 

Yasss it's Christmas Eve, can feel the vibes all around now buh guys! Take it easy on those chickens please, they deserve love too lol. Anyway, getting down to the business of the day. So one of our loyal subscribers who is also a proficient writer,  decided to share something with us. Isn't that lovely? Yes I know. Well he is telling us what Christmas means to him so seat back,  read and enjoy!

CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!
Christmas! Christmas!! Christmas!!!OMG, it is here again… season of jollof rice, chicken, new cloth, money from visitors (my favourite part), family all around, banga, fireworks, carol songs, basically, FESTIVE!!!
Today, I gave this season a thought. What does Christmas actually mean to ME???
Well, some 5 years ago, it just meant going to the village (my dad’s tradition he is trying to instil into us… we get it dad, ‘don’t forget home’ we know), don’t get me wrong o, my village is small London. Awesome place to be, with wonderful people. This was five years ago…
Now, we still go to the village (lol, that’s not the point jare, silly you) but it’s not really about the venue, rather the activity. Venue also matters o… don’t get me wrong (we’ll get to that soon).
So, to me now, Christmas has more meaning. It is the birth of the FINAL SALVATION PACKAGE!!! A fulfilment of a long standing promise (chai, so many prophesies). Let’s pause for a minute and examine the definition. Birth of (1) FINAL (2) SALVATION (3) PACKAGE

FINAL…
This inherently means prior to the birth of baby Jesus, there were various RESCUE MISSIONS God (Our Ever-Loving Father) undertook to restore Humanity with Divinity. Remember the flood during Noah’s time, the plagues that befell the Egyptians while rescuing His beloved Israelites etc… some kind 007 Rouge Nation undercover missions, nice one Big G, I see you. Unfortunately, these missions seemed abortive. Not because God was ineffective or inadequate (Never), but it was man just being human, continually falling short of the covenant.
So God developed a new strategy, one that needs no Human effort than to believe. This mission being undertaken was the last and final one (GHEN GHEN)… oh, with this, we would expect that after such a mighty flood, 10 plagues and so on, the Lord God will finally save Humanity with a chariot of fire, or heavenly hosts will just come and host us away, lol, or at worst, just take us away like brother Enoch. No, our unconventional God saves teenagers, youth, Adults, working class, and the aged with a baby boy. It beats all reasoning that the DEATH of one will give all LIFE.

SALVATION…
See FINAL above. (You were expecting rhema abi? Lol) well with salvation, two words… Eternal relationship.

PACKAGE…
A Package more often than not is a GIFT… yup, the salvation package is not an exception. God’s loving kindness and grace is what makes the salvation package available. It is however important to note that salvation is not the only gift in this bag (those of us who go to owanbe will know this of course, that there is more than one item inside gift bag), we have amongst others Fruitfulness, Joy, everlasting peace and holiness. So the big question is, why don’t you receive your take-away pack today? Its FREE.
One thing that has consistently guided me this period is the fact that it is not my birthday… it is Jesus’s. So, while rejoicing in this festive season, We should be celebrating baby Jesus. If Jesus were to be born in this contemporary day, I’m sure He’ll have had at least a naming ceremony. Ohya, let’s go and turn up. Wait, oh I forgot, We need two things, first the venue (place of the party), and what we are giving him as a gift. Afterall the wise men have gave him Gold, Frankincense and Martyr (how do we beat that? smh mehn).

VENUE
Where are you spending the birthday? Where are we TURNING UP? Are you going to seek Jesus’s face at his father’s house? Or are we throwing a club bash? Who on earth is the event planner for this birthday? Wherever you may end up, keep this in mind, God’s voice or glory is not revealed in shady places.

GIFT
 This beautiful season, what birthday gift are we giving to Jesus? Remember we can’t give Him money, the wise men already covered that. How about we get some dippers? Naa… someone must have thought of that already. Toys? Too cliché. How about praises? Yeah. That’s good, but insufficient as an appreciation for the ultimate sacrifice of death he fulfilled for us.
Eureka!
He gave his life for us, why not give ours to Him? This will definitely be the best gift anyone can give Him at the party, their all. Also, this will definitely entitle us to the package that will be shared at the party. THE FINAL SALVATION PACKAGE.
I have my gift for baby Jesus this Christmas (My Life). Well, what will you do for Him?
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

JUST BE HAPPY!

It's not so easy to be happy I tell you,
Because the devil just has this way of sneaking in thoughts or illusions into our heads  and minds to make us unhappy even when we have a lot of things to be happy about.
But regardless, you just have to make up your mind and strive to be happy!
Just be Happy... Not because of anyone or anything or any achievement but because you choose to be happy and you are happy.
Happiness is a state of mind,  nothing more!
If you are not happy,  it is because you have not still decided to be happy.
Once you make up your mind to be happy,  you will find ways to make yourself happy, not by doing drugs or any negative thing but there are several other ways.
Experience has shown that the best way to find happiness is when you are a source of happiness to someone. When you put a smile on the face of another, your heart is filled with joy also and you are happy.
So just be happy. You have nothing to gain by being unhappy so why not wipe off that dirty smirk off the devil's face by choosing to be ALWAYS happy regardless of the circumstances surrounding you.

Jeff : Thank you.
Admin: So you won the Mtn Projectfame West Africa Season 8, how did that feel?
 Jeff: It felt awesome. I felt great. I feel victorious.
Admin: When you decided to participate in the competition, did you face any challenges from friends or your parents like "you are too young" and all that?
 Jeff: I was supported by everyone. I was totally supported. I'm grateful to my parents for letting me live my dream.
Admin : Before Projectfame,  have you had any previous experience as regards music?Jeff: Yeah. I was in naija sings when I was 13 wth my elder brother and I also sang in the choir
Admin: So what genre of music will be your focus?
 Jeff: I'm not defined by genres. I do music according to how I feel per time and what my audience wants to listen to.
Admin : Cool. Apart from music, do you have other interests?
Jeff: Yeah I love games. Love photography, then Adventure,  any form of adventure
Admin : So rumor has it that you are actually a certified graduate. How true is that?
 Jeff: Yes I am a graduate of Sound Engineering from SAE institute Cape Town.
Admin : So do you intend to go fully into music or it's going to be your music side by side your profession?
Jeff: Music is life. It's what I breath and live for. I'm going fully into music.
Admin: Should we anticipate the release of your  album anytime soon?
Jeff : Yea my album will be out by January 2016.
Admin: So I hear you have this huge fan base already, especially the ladies, how do you handle that?
Jeff: I just live my life the way I used to before all these so I'm good.
Admin: What do you have to say to young people with big dreams like you out there? Jeff: Follow your dreams.
Admin: Also what do you have to say to your supporters and well wishers?

TIME; OUR GREATEST ASSET

Happy Sunday purplenigmers. Am sure your Sunday was as beautiful as mine. So what are we discussing today? Time, time, time...
I want to believe we all know the importance of time but this is just a little reminder.
Time is a very important factor in this race of life. This is why we wear the popular adage, "Time is money".
Time is one of the priceless gifts given to mankind by God, you cannot buy it nor renew it.
Once a particular time passes,  it is gone forever ; there can never be another 19th December 2015...Even the second that just passed right now cannot be retrieved, just like spilled milk.
Yes it is deep but that is the reality of life. Very quickly, lemme share with you this extract adapted by John Maxwell in his book, TODAY MATTERS, talking about the importance if time. He said :
"To know the value of one year... ask the student who failed the final exam.
To know the value of one month... ask the mother of a premature baby.
To know the value of one week... ask the editor of a weekly newsmagazine.
To know the value of one hour... ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To know the value of one minute,  ask the person who missed the plane.

Hey honeybuns!
I'm here again to discuss something really important - OUR CIRCLES!
By circles, i mean our friends,  peers,  squad,  call it whatever name you wish...
Our circles go a long way in influencing who we eventually become.
Your friends can either make you or mar you.
Your friends either add to you or subtract from you, albeit unconsciously or unknowingly, there is no middle ground.
Choose your friends wisely and it will save you from a lot of trouble. Like they say,  "Evil communication corrupts good manners".
Choose friends that have similar goals as yours, friends that are heading to the same destination with you,  not abstract friends.
Put a boundary between your friends and your acquaintances. Not everyone you know or you talk to is your friend!
Develop your own circle and try and keep it small...
In this world of social media where everyone is telling everybody everything,  it is wise to be discreet!
Gone are the days when a problem shared is half solved,  now, a problem shared becomes a trending topic!
So why not talk to the one that will never disappoint you- God. He is ever eager to hear you out without judging you.

MideAkins : Yea true. Erinle Olamide Akin is the full name. I joined Mide and Akin to form MideAkins.
Admin : Wow nice. So can I call you Akin for the purpose of this interview? 
MideAkins : You can but I will prefer  Mide. 
Admin : Alright Mide. So what's your take on fashion? 
MideAkins : I feel that fashion is a   trend and style is what you can do with it. 
Admin : So are you saying there is    no fashion without style?
MideAkins : Fashion can exist but   style is what makes it really exist... To me, they co-exist. There is no fashion without a form of style. This is why I see myself as a style innovator. 
Admin : Hmmm young and proud, I like that.  
MideAkins : *laughs out loud *  Am not proud,  I just see fashion from a perspective that only the few see it from. 
Admin : Well said. So how many styles have you innovated so far? 
MideAkins : I don't have a specific number but I have done my bit in creating my own style.  I can list a   couple but they will be better understood by seeing the pictures.

  
    







Admin : I noticed you pay very close attention to details in your dressing. Why? 

       

 MideAkins : I pay attention to my detailing which is part of my dressing... Looking good is good business you know. *smiles*

SOFT WHISPERS(2) - YOU CAN SEE BUT YOU CAN'T TOUCH

Morning ladies and gents,  though this post is specially for the ladies buh if the gents want to read also, feel free.
So if you check through my previous posts, you will stumble on the first part of this topic - SOFT WHISPERS (1).Yeah,that's right, this is the second episode.
So what are we talking about this time?
"Sometimes love comes around,
And it knocks  you down,
You just get back up,
When it knocks you down,  knocks you down... "
Keri Hilson was definitely on track  when she sang these lyrics.
He said he loved you, you fall in love also, along the line,  you get hurt, does that mean it's the end of the world? Tomorrow is still Friday, Obama is still the U. S president, nothing has changed...
You have only added to the depth of your experience, get the lesson and MOVE ON! Don't wallow in self-pity or regrets, they will only drain you physically, mentally and emotionally.
Buh sistur, love can't keep knocking you down anyhow because you just might get too weak to stand up. So what can we do about the situation? Here are few tips:
1)Never test the waters of love with both feet. You may drown. He said he loves you but you are not sure yet, his actions do not fit the words, then don't go all head over heels in love with him. Get a good grip over your emotions girl!
2)Love and sex ain't the same thing. There is this illusion spreading like wild fire, not just now, that sex equals love and vice - versa. Please, biko my sisters beware! This is a lie from the pit of hell. Love has never meant sex and it never will. Sex only makes love stronger between married couples but if you are not married and you are having sex,  it will consume you,  that's why it is called CONSUMATION.
Ladies please be wise,  gone are the days when we still leave in ignorance of the vices of the guys. Now the signals are everywhere. If a boy tells you to prove your love by sex,  then you should see the DANGER SIGN all over his forehead and RUN. That guy obviously does not love you, he only lusts you.  There are no exceptions to this general rule. It is absolute so don't go deceiving yourself saying my case is different, our love is special. Guys will always be guys!!! Once they get what they want,  they are out.
Most times, after the sex,  they don't even want to talk to the lady again, they start giving attitude and all,  it has happened so many times so don't fall a victim. To be forewarned is to before harmed!
There are soft whispers all around you,  sweet words but keep your head straight and be calm.  It is just a feeling, it will pass.
Let us revive that good old rule:
YOU CAN ONLY SEE BUT YOU CAN'T TOUCH!

What is love?
Like really what exactly does love mean?
Why does the 3-letter phrase "I love you" seem so easy to say yet so hard to practice?
Why has love been mistaken for so many things these days?
Why do people go about their selfish interests and still convince others that they are doing it for love? (myself included)
What is love?
Love is not an expression,  it's a lifestyle.
Love is not something you show conditionally,  based on how the other person treats you,
Love ought to be unconditional.
If you are thinking of what you will gain, then it's not love,  it's selfishness.
Love entails selflessness.
Love goes beyond texting or calling a person but also praying for that person.
Love is a deep, genuine concern for someone or something.
U don't want any harm to come to the one you love.
You want to always see them happy, make them smile...
Love is life itself.
Love your neighbor as yourself - The greatest commandment of all time.
But before then, there is a preceding command:
Thou shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, might, spirit, soul and body, basically everything uve got...
Therefore, without God, there is no love.
God is love,  love is life💯
