Nigeria is obviously a blessed country;
Enriched with diverse culture and ethnicity;
It is corruption and bad leadership that has bastardized our nation;
Undermining our development and national identity;
We have abundant wealth and resources
Yet many still suffer from lack and acute poverty;
Children are dying, adults are weeping
Their blood and tears stain the roads of our cities;
Yet dey come again afta every four years;
With sugar coated words and empty promises;
They fill our ears with well rehearsed speeches;
Wearing the emblem of goodwill for dose dat would believe;
They embark on white elephant projects to fulfill all righteousness;
While they loot our funds and fill their foreign accounts;
We seek for change, dey give us bondage;
We seek for peace buh d violence never cease;
We seek for progress but all we get is distress;
Corruption and injustice characterize the society;
The lawmakers are the greatest law breakers,
When the high and mighty break d law with impunity,
what do we expect from d citizens?
The so-called leaders do whatever they want and get away with it;
While our judicial authorities practice systematic forgiveness for our leaders;
While d slightest misbehavior by an average man is met with grave penalty;
Some embezzle our millions and billions of naira and go scot-free;
While a woman who stole pepper, obviously to meet her innate needs,
was bruutally tortured and humiliated;
The powerful elites in d society impose their will on d less powerful through the instrumentality of d law and sanction all those that refuse to comply in order to
maintain their privileged positions;
How can justice prevail when those that are to enforce this justice
are placed in positions by these High and Mighty?
Nepotism, tribalism and favoritism form the basis of any political
or administrative appointment;
The police, who claim to be "our friends", are used to carry out
selective justice in the country;
The concept of Separation of Powers have been made a mess of;
The Legislature now perform the duty of the Executive while the
Executive play the role of the Judiciary;
The rule of law is ridiculed and sabotaged,
Our fundamental human rights are being violated to the extent
that some don't even know their entitlements anymore;
Our youths roam about jobless, searching for anything to keep
their anxious hands and curious minds busy;
But yet the government invite foreign men to do
what our youths can do better;
Simply because they trust their verdicts more;
Terrorism and insurgency are now the order of the day,
Wiv dis widely dispersed diligent group(Boko- Haram);
People are being killed like no man's business,
The spirit of the dead are screaming for justice,
Our brothers and sisters in the far North East,
Now live in fear and are always on the run,
Cuz dey dnt knw when it will be deir turn,
Lives have been displaced and properties destroyed,
When will all dese madness stop?
The Giant of Africa is fast becoming enslaved to her counterparts;
Even our currency has been reduced to almost nothing ;
We stand for nothing and as a result, we settle for anything!
Will you continue to be a spectator while they dictate our lives?
Wil you continue to watch the labor of our forefathers go down the drain?
Enough is enough!
Enough of all these atrocities and abnormalities!
Itz time for Nigerians to arise and play their role in the making of our destiny!
If u want change then create change!
There was once a time we used to hear that we are the leaders of tomorrow;
Well am happy to inform you that that tomorrow is here!
Arise o' compatriots!
And fight for what is rightfully yours;
Say no to bribery and corruption;
Corruption is a widespread disease that has eaten deep into .
the marrows of the people;
We keep saying our leaders are corrupt;
But the pertinent question is have we ourselves quarantined
from the disease of corruption?
The struggle to combat corruption starts from you and I ;
Corruption can only be eradicated if we change our mindsets
and start portraying honesty and integrity in everything we do;
The battle against corruption is not a one man's job;
We have to work together with unity of purpose;
As the popular saying goes," United we stand,divided we fall"
We lack unity in this country sorry to say;
Every one ,every tribe goes about their selfish interests and private affairs;
There is no love,no care,no compassion.
One ethnic group claiming to be better than the other,
Yet we complain about racism and wag our tongues effortlessly;
When even within ourselves, we discriminate one another;
We have to break those walls of pride and prejudice;
And fight a good fight of faith;
Here they come again with alluring proposals,
Acting all serious lyk dis time itz gonna b different,
Each proving to be the most suitable and capable,
But you get to make the choice
The future of dis country lies in our hands;
And that future is now!!!
It is the politics of enmity and winning at all costs that is
killing our country up till date;
If the foundation is alredi enmeshed in corruption,
then what can the people do?
Two opposing heads clamouring for one throne;
Each putting on the holier-than-thou attitude;
They shake their hands in public and laugh with each oda;
Buh dey spite and stab each oda's back in secret;
Dey both present wat looks good on media;
Devoid of material facts worthy of investigation;
It is not in my place to judge any of dem;
Or declare one better than the other;
Who will eventually emerge as d winner remains unknown
to anyone except God truth be told,
Buh i have a strong assurance dat dis election will forever
be remembered in d history of Nigeria,
We can only pray for God's will to be done,
But we still play a very critical role;
Vote wisely for the change you desire;
Ensure that your votes count and are counted;
That is the only way to ensure the sanctity of the ballot boxes;
Stand by your votes and refuse to move an inch until all the
votes are counted and the winner is announced before your very eyes;
Make that sacrifice for your beloveth country;
The kingdom of Nigeria suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force;
Oh well, what else can i say?
May the best man win!!!
