Heyo frnds! Happy Good Friday to y'all.
Ok so a lot of things dropped into my mind this morning and I will be selfish if i don't share with others.
As we all know and for the benefit of those who don't, the Good Friday represents the day of the Crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ and Easter Sunday is to celebrate His resurrection
The Easter celebration is a festive period whereby we remember the death and ressurection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Not all churches celebrate the Ash Wednesday but all churches
celebrate Easter because of its significant importance.
Buh what is this special significance of the Easter celebration?
because many of us just see it as another opportunity to get new
clothes, shoes and eat delicacies.
How many of us actually sit down for a moment to fully grasp
the basis of this ressurection story?
Do we actually picture and make real the sufferings of our Lord
Jesus Christ just for the redemption of you and I?
The truth is No. We are all guilty of this.
Most times , we just go about our daily activities forgetting that
someone had to pay for the life we are living with every single pint of His blood to the very last drop!
Buh few times like this, when i just sit down to think about His crucifixion, it still baffles me.
I mean for someone to be that selfless and love me that deeply, it really leaves me in awe and wonder and am like : Can this be real? Why so selfless? Why so loyal?
Buh yes it happened, every single account of it . Let me make it clearer.
The world was in a mess and humanity was doomed and bound for damnation.
But our Lord God, out of His infinite mercies, sent his only son, Jesus Christ to redeem and save us with His precious blood. Incase you don't knw, the true interpretation of the statement above is that Jesus lived to die. Assin his purpose in earth was to bear our sins and die!.
An innocent man who did nothing wrong , rather did good to all men and lived a perfect life, was humiliated and brutally destroyed. Even murderers don't die the way Jesus did, at least they just shoot them
or hang them and that is the end but Jesus died a slow and painful death :"He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,and acquainted with grief :
and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised and we esteemed Him not".
Isaiah 53 : 3
The garments of Jesus were stripped off and they spat on him like he was some pig for sins he knew nothing about but He had to do it because no one else will.
"Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows : yet we did esteem
Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted".
Isaiah 53 : 4
Ok now we've reached the most amazing aspect. Just stay with me.
Jesus Christ was mercilessly bitten on his bare back, with not just normal cane
but with a confirmed whip because at every lash of the whip, he bled in pain for what he did not do oo, shey assuming He was guilty as charged ,
it would have been better but Jesus was blameless and there was no fault in Him,
yet He was beaten then what did He have to say :
"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and by His stripes, we are healed".
Isaiah 53 : 5
Like is anyone in shock as I am? " ...By His stripes, we are healed"?
They wiped Him mercilessly and yet all He could think of is how He will provide healing for our souls with the stripes(injuries) He got from the beating?
Woow, He is awesome!
It didnt just end there, they put a Crown of thorns on His head and mocked Him
before finally nailing Him to the cross but yet he did not utter a word :
"He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth : He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers
is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth". Isaiah 53 : 7
Hmmmm just imagine if it was you they did all these to, even when we are guilty self, I trust some of us will be like:
"God wetin sef, wetin, na me sin pass" or if we were Jesus, we will start doubting
if God is actually our real father because how will someone be my father and have me suffer that much? Buh Jesus did not react in any of these ways, instead after they nailed him to the cross and pierced his side, He said : "Father forgive them for they know not what they do"
Lyk Hello!....someone is driving 6inches nails into your palms and feet and
you are still praying for that person? Choi...i stand amazed.
It takes an extra ordinarily beautiful heart to be able to make such
immeasurable sacrifice. Oh how i long to have a heart like His.
His single act of love whereby He died and ressurected on the third day
changed the story of mankind forever.
Someone did all these for you and all He's asking for in return is that you
should just notice Him, acknowledge Him, give Him your heart and
worship Him in truth and in spirit. He doesn't want u to pay for His blood that
He shed or compensate Him for the agonizing pains He went through on your behalf, he simply wants to have an intimate relationship with you; He wants you to get to know each other better and become best of friends;
You know, I can never fully comprehend the kind of love Jesus has for us. It is just too intense to understand, too immense to quantify with words. We are not worthy of this love at all, yet he doesn't care about our unworthiness
but still showers us with love and mercy. It is overwhelming!
Do you ever wonder if you have done your best for Jesus wen He has
done so much for you?
There are just two basic rules given by the Creator Himself. They are:
1) Love the Lord your God with all uve got and everything within you.
2) Love your neighbors as yourself.
Itz that simple. All other rules in this world border on these two principal rules.
Taking a deep thought on these rules, you will find out that the only reason for sin is SELFISHNESS!
We always want to be at the receiving end that we often forget about giving to others. I need you as you need me, He( Jesus) needs us as we need Him.
Life is all about mutual symbiotic relationships. If everyone wants to keep receiving and receiving then who will now give?
If God were to be selfish, do you think anyone will stand? or if Jesus had refused to die for us, will we be alive today?
Think about it. He deserves far more than we give Him.
Itz high time we take a U - turn and start thinking of ways to give Him also for the uncountable things he has done for us, and is still doing and will continue to do. He doesnt need your silver or gold , he just needs a space in your heart to dwell in, he wants your time,your company, your love, care and attention.
Treat Him the way you will treat your boo or a loved one. You know how you get all excited when talking about someone you love or when you hear anything about the person. Let Jesus begin to excite you that way. It is the least you can do for this priceless friend who keeps interceding for you in heaven every second, He keeps watch over you 24/7 and He is never tired.
All He just wants is for u to LOVE HIM! Do things that will make Him happy.
I guessed have said a lot, lol the reality of this just really hit me hard and i had to pour it out and share with you. Itz time for you to take a stand on all that you've read. You can start by not being selfish and sharing this with others.
